Join Resonator in welcoming Oklahoma outsider artist Michial Sass for his first solo exhibition in Norman.

For decades, Sass has been been bringing fantastic creatures into being using found animal bones mixed with a variety of other materials. The results combine sci-fi and fantasy with a hint of taxidermy and a lot of visionary creativity.

“My name is Michial Sass. I draw my inspiration from being a fan of classic monster movies and a deep appreciation for the art of Frank Frazetta.  I started carving wood but almost instantly, after a complete accident,  I began sculpting with the bones of wildlife.  Now, a 20 yr obsession with the manipulation of shape and color ,I create the craziest art on the planet. The closest thing to compare is driftwood sculpture, so I say bones are the driftwood of the plains.”
