In this workshop we’ll explore Japanese stab binding. This easy-to-master form of open spine bookbinding has been around for millennia and lends itself well to poetic and artistic content. We’ll use traditional and non-traditional book making materials and explore various stitching options allowed by the basic stab-binding form.
All materials will be provided. If you have a sketchbook, some poetry, or other drawings/prints/photos on paper, bring those along and we can talk about how you can get them bound into a beautiful handmade book.
Your instructor, Curtis Jones, is a working artist and Art Professor at OU, where he teaches Book Arts, Drawing, and all forms of Printmaking.
Workshop fee is $20.
